I was lucky to discover Mycotherapy. Although, to be honest, things happen, but in a certain sense, after all, we are the ones who make them happen.
The truth is, mine wasn't a choice. It was a vocation, an overwhelming desire, which started when I was still a child. At the age of seven I was sure that when I grew up, I wanted to help people, to alleviate their suffering. Even now I’m a lot older, the mission of alleviating the pains, pathologies, psycho-physical ailments of people is still fundamental for me, stronger than ever.
As a young man I studied, worked, looked for answers to my countless questions and of course I found many! But it was never enough, I didn't feel I had discovered all there was to know. For this reason, I can say that things happen, but in the end it is we who make them happen because I was convinced that, in addition to conventional medicine, in addition to the usual treatments, there was something more, other solutions, other answers...
So, after my degree in medicine, psychiatry specialization, psychotherapy school and various studies in the areas of both natural and conventional medicine, I decided to make a study trip to the University Hospital of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine in Shanghai, to develop the knowledge I learned in Milan at the Acupuncture School. And voilà, as well as getting a Master’s degree in Acupuncture, it was in China that I finally found the answer! In the moments free from work and study, during the internship at the hospital in Shanghai, with Dr. Pei, to whom I had been assigned, we visited the wards of the hospital and had interesting conversations. It was there that I discovered Mycotherapy.
In the next articles I will talk about how I discovered Mycotherapy and why it convinced me.
Once I was back in Italy, I began to investigate the subject and started using it myself. I must admit I was in quite good health, but some ailments had already appeared, such as a slight increase in my blood pressure.
Taking Medicinal Mushrooms, day after day, I began to feel better and better, much better! My energy levels increased, my skin improved, my expression was more relaxed and also the stories of those who turned to me and were treated with Medicinal Mushrooms were all success stories, of psychophysical well-being. From that moment on, I have continued to increase my knowledge of Mycotherapy using Medicinal Mushrooms for myself and my patients.
Now we come to what, with incredulity and enthusiasm, I wanted to tell you today. Several years have passed, my daughters, then little girls, have grown up, the bold young man who devoted whole days to work and whole nights to research have left room for a man who is certainly wiser, but also older.
Yet, on 14th September, 2022, with a backpack on my shoulder, my wife by the hand and a supply of Medicinal Mushrooms in my pocket, I left for the Camino de Santiago.
Never, never, had they told me when I was 20, would I have believed it. I probably would have hoped for it, but perhaps I would not have believed it possible to realize this dream too: the Camino de Santiago de Compostela, which I did full of energy, without ever feeling too tired thanks to Mycotherapy, which supported me, as it supports me in my everyday life.
We walked around 170km in seven days. We started from Oia in Portugal and reached Santiago on foot, walking an average of 25 km per day, with energy, happiness and enthusiasm!
The landscapes we encountered along the way, the sunrises, the sunsets, the pilgrims with that sense of fraternity, filled me with vitality step by step. However, I felt that my real strength came from within me. My body, my legs, my feet didn't struggle too much along the paths. The climbs, descents and refreshment breaks were transformed into simple moments in which to enjoy everything around me. I was certainly not the youngest on the path, but I managed to reach the goal still with a lot of energy and strength in my body and heart. I believe that without my meeting with Medicinal Mushrooms, which took place almost 20 years ago in that hospital in Shanghai, all this would not have been possible.
At my age, at 66, without Medicinal Mushrooms and the energy they give me every day, probably the Camino de Santiago would have been a mirage. Maybe I could have seen it in a documentary, but with my legs, my lungs, with all the cells in my body, which I now feel younger than ever, I would never have thought I'd be able to make this dream come true! Everything that happens in my life is a gift. Now, thanks to the daily testimonies of those who come to me, thanks to everything I can achieve in my life, I can finally say that that 7-year-old child's dream has come true! The answers came "strong and clear"!
I have received many messages on social media: “Doctor, I too would like to do the Camino de Santiago, but I am afraid of not being able/not having the strength. What would you recommend?" Cordyceps, Chaga and Reishi, are definitely the best friends of athletes, both for professionals like the Chinese athletes who won the Olympics, and for enthusiasts like me, because they give a lot of energy and well-being on a psycho-physical level: mens sana in corpore sano!
These Medicinal Mushrooms working in synergy, are able to give their best by enhancing performance and supporting preparation and training.
Remember, prevention and improvement of your physical condition begins when you are well, when you are healthy!
When I approached Mycotherapy I was in good health, I only had a few ailments, yet, if I look back, it seems to me that time has passed in reverse, because, I repeat, I never imagined I could feel better now than when I was 30 years old!
The journey is the goal: help yourself with Medicinal Mushrooms just like I did!
Enjoy the journey!
