Alfonso's story: Medicinal Mushrooms and skin pathologies

BY DR. FRANCESCA ARDIGÒ
Psoriasis and dermatitis? Trust in Medicinal Mushrooms

If you want to defeat psoriasis and dermatitis, make Medicinal Mushrooms part of your daily routine.

Psoriasis, a chronic inflammatory skin condition, not only leads to the formation of unsightly whitish scales but also poses significant aesthetic challenges, often lowering self-esteem due to its persistent nature.

Other inflammatory skin conditions include:

  • Eczema;
  • Inflammatory dermatitis;
  • Seborrheic dermatitis.

As also demonstrated by scientific literature and many successful outcomes, Medicinal Mushrooms are useful and effective remedies in the definitive resolution of psoriasis and dermatitis, including chronic forms.

Medicinal Mushrooms in the treatment of psoriasis: the story of Alfonso, 64 years old, from Piacenza

Alfonso, a lawyer, has suffered from psoriasis since the age of thirty-nine. His skin is often affected by unsightly skin lesions, red and covered with whitish scales of dry skin. He has been treated with regular cycles of cortisone and emollient creams to hydrate the skin and reduce dryness and itching. But the results are scarce, not to mention the side effects of cortisone. He comes to the surgery to look for a possible solution. Alfonso feels uncomfortable because some of the plaques that form appear on his scalp. This pathology is a source of great discomfort, because his life, due to the work he does, is based on social relationships. Sometimes the lesions also appear on covered parts such as the elbows and knees, but he can put up with those better.

Alfonso starts taking the Psoriasis and Dermatitis Kit, composed of Agaricus, Reishi and Chaga, to strengthen his vulnerable immune system and to counteract the skin inflammation of psoriasis.
In three months, the situation changes: the skin lesions diminish and after another three months no more psoriasis plaques appear. He thanks me happily and even his subtle melancholy has disappeared like snow in the sun.

Mechanisms of action of Medicinal Mushrooms in the treatment of psoriasis

The Psoriasis Kit is made up of Agaricus, Reishi and Chaga, which resolve skin inflammation, promote regeneration and keep the skin in good health. Agaricus normalizes the immune system, Reishi has a natural "cortison-like" anti-inflammatory action, but it is Chaga which is the most important remedy, capable of resolving this pathology.

Chaga, traditionally widely used for dermatitis, is the Medicinal Mushroom par excellence for the treatment of psoriasis (El Enshasy, 2013). Very rich in anti-inflammatory substances, in the skin it produces excellent results in combating dermatitis and psoriasis. Some recent research has demonstrated its effectiveness in the treatment of skin diseases such as eczema, inflammatory and allergic dermatitis, but it is particularly effective in the treatment of psoriasis (Dosychev, 1973; Frost, 2016; Zhong, 2013).

Two recent studies have shown that it also makes the skin very beautiful and healthy, thanks to the very high quantity of antioxidants that protect the skin from free radicals and keep it younger and more beautiful. How? Because it contains 50 times more SOD (Super-oxide-dismutase) than other Medicinal Mushrooms. This is the most powerful antioxidant enzyme in the body, which protects the skin as well as the rest of the body (e.g. heart, brain, liver, kidney) from the degenerative action of ROS (Zhong, 2013; Hu, 2009; Sun, 2008). In fact, it is the number one cosmetic of Russian women.

Moreover, Agaricus (Halpern, 2007) and Reishi (Sanodiya, 2009) are rich in antioxidants that protect the skin from premature aging.

Agaricus is considered by Traditional Brazilian Medicine to be the cosmetic par excellence for use in anti-aging treatments. It prevents and lightens age spots, makes the skin luminous thanks to its purifying properties (Halpern, 2007)

Professor Stavinoha, pharmacologist at the University of San Antonio in Texas (USA), has demonstrated that Reishi has an efficacy in combating inflammation comparable to that of cortisone, without the side effects (Stavinoha, 1991 & 1995). Professor Joseph confirmed that Reishi has an effect comparable to that of the anti-inflammatory diclofenac (Voltaren), but without the side effects (Joseph, 2009).

The synergy of these three wonderful Medicinal Mushrooms exerts a symptom-resolving and cosmetic action at the same time, since, in addition to restoring balance, it makes the skin healthier, smoother, more compact and radiant.

The Psoriasis and Dermatitis Kit does not cause side effects and is compatible with any existing pharmacological treatments.
