Medicinal Mushrooms bring back the energy of my youth

You are used to seeing me as a Doctor, but today I will tell you how Medicinal Mushrooms fit into my private life.

I have always loved sport, when I was a child I did tennis, karate, windsurfing, football and all the sports activities that my body allowed me to tackle.

In early adulthood, school and work commitments (internships, studying and first work experiences) took priority, forcing me to sacrifice my personal interests, especially those of my beloved sports.

Every day I wished I could get back to doing sport with greater commitment, hoping that my stamina and strength, now I’m older, would still support me.

Now I have greying hair and two adult daughters, I continue to carry out my work mission with care and dedication, and yet, the lifestyle that sometimes was too much for me at thirty now seem more easily sustainable.

I am sure that this is due to my good basic routine: every day I tend to cultivate thoughts of serenity, infusing my mind with courage, but above all, every day, for the last twenty years, I have always taken Medicinal Mushrooms.

I never thought I would be able to complete the Camino de Santiago at my age! But that's what happened a year ago! And I hadn’t expected to be able to do the “Camì de Cavalls” this September.

Medicinal Mushrooms to achieve maximum energy levels

The “Camì de Cavalls” is a path made up of 20 sections, for a total of 185 km and runs along the entire coast of Menorca. A spectacle of nature!

It is a varied and fascinating route, with white beaches bathed by crystal clear waters, Mediterranean scrub with the scent of its essences, olive groves and vast areas of cultivated land.

The “De S'Albufera des Grau” Natural Park represents the core of the biosphere reserve and from an environmental point of view is the most important part of the island. A wetland with an expanse of fresh water where birds nest on small floating islands, a breath-taking lunar landscape at the Favaritx Lighthouse.

The path to the north of the island crosses another wild part with a great variety of colours: from the green of the vegetation to the red of the rock which turns yellow and then red again. Continuously changing scenery and energy until the conclusion at Cala Pilar, one of the least accessible and best preserved beaches in Menorca. The magnificent popular festival in the town of Mahon which concludes the summer cycle of horse festivals, an event linked to the 14th century and these animals. An exciting party attended by all Menorcans, in which we took part with great enthusiasm and amazement.

The uncontaminated nature, the company of my wife and other pilgrim friends with us, the local food, the salty wind and the brilliantly colored views made this journey, about 20 km a day for a week, magical.

To enjoy these natural beauties we walked, walked, walked and walked some more. All this is possible only when body and mind, walking arm in arm, allow it.

Cultivating a healthy lifestyle and positive thoughts helps me face many challenges. However, I know that having Cordyceps, Reishi and Agaricus as faithful daily companions for more than twenty years has made a difference to my stamina, strength, endurance, lung oxygenation and ability to face the entire journey.

We walked along paths with different height differences and in the evening, when we got to bed, satisfaction always won over tiredness. Muscle pain was little and minor, and great strength in my legs and arms was helped by the trekking poles.

I have always been a sportsman, but as a kid, watching my parents, I didn't think I would reach their age and feel all this energy inside me!
